No matter where you come from or what you have experienced, we are here to support you. We treat individuals, couples, and families, specializing in first responder care.
First Responder Families are susceptible to secondary traumatic stress. They often feel isolated, alone, and think that no other family is going through what they are experiencing. We teach ways to connect, communicate, and improve relationships to move towards stronger family systems.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an innovative approach to trauma treatment and other mental health disorders. ART works more rapidly than other forms of therapy, therefore it’s brief and effective nature make it one of the best options for the treatment of post traumatic stress injuries. During ART sessions, clients recall traumatic events, and the therapist facilitates recategorization of the memories over the course of 1-5 sessions. The results are amazing as clients no longer experience intense recollections of memories or other disruptive symptoms such as panic attacks, flashbacks, or nightmares.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an empirically based and effective trauma treatment method proven to help people recover from PTSD, PTSI, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. It was originally developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in 1989 and has a basis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. EMDR is an 8-phase treatment protocol where the client fully processes past experiences and sorts out the emotions or core beliefs associated and attached to those experiences. EMDR therapy focuses directly on the memory and is intended to change the way that the memory is stored in the brain, thus reducing, and eliminating the problematic symptoms. Within 1-3 sessions, negative thoughts and feelings that are no longer useful are replaced with new positive thoughts and feelings. This results in healthier behaviors and symptom reduction or alleviation.

Are you a member of Law Enforcement? Fire? Military? EMS? Dispatch? Or a Medical Professional?
First Responders see things no one should have to see, and no one should have to do. Trauma is an unfortunate part of the job. Psychological care is not about looking weak. It is about healing stress injuries (Post Traumatic Stress Injuries) early on, mitigating stress, and learning how to care for yourself throughout your career and beyond.
Tiffany is a passionate supporter of Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Veterans. After years of working in the field with public safety for the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team, she has experienced first-hand the severity of stressors related to critical incidents and now provides mental wellness trainings, counseling services, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing for these professionals.
Tiffany was formerly the Director at First Responder Wellness, and a mental health professional for The Counseling Team International, and Shift Wellness. She is actively involved with First Responder family wellness in her spare time. Her genuine understanding for First Responder family life comes from her own life experience as she is married to an Anaheim Fire Captain and they have two children together. She founded the Southern California Fire-wives Connect group and is a Co-Founder of the Anaheim Fire Families as the Family Support Services Coordinator.

Do you have an interest in experiential therapy?
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is affective for everyone at all ages and stages of life.
First responders are routinely exposed to traumatic critical incidents, placing them at higher risk for developing stress-related psychopathology and associated health problems than the general population. Best practice therapeutic interventions are needed to improve resilience, stress management, and are aimed to help protect the health of this high-risk population. We believe that horses are the perfect partners to assist teaching responders about nervous system activation, as they are prey animals. Similarly, both must possess a level of hypervigilance required to keep themselves safe and yet also learn how to stay present and engaged when the risk is low.
Tiffany enjoys training and riding horses, and in fact, is a Polyvagal Equine Institute Professor and Insured Equine Assisted Psychotherapist. She offers treatment here at Serendipity Stables to include: Empowerment Groups, Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse Recovery, Teen Connect Groups, and Trauma Treatment while utilizing horses as part of therapy. She also offers equine sessions for individuals, families, and corporate leadership trainings.
“Equine Assisted Psychotherapy allows the client to process and heal deep rooted issues through Experiential and Gestalt Therapy methodologies. With this form of mental health/addiction treatment the horse is an active part of the client’s treatment team! Horses are known for heightened sensitivity and can mirror human non-verbal communication and intention.”

Many of us feel alone. You may think you are the only one going through a difficult time. Group therapy is a tool for you to seek support from others who are experiencing similar hardships. Being surrounded by people who may be able to relate to your story is powerful. You can speak openly and safely about your own trials, while also listening to offer support to your peers in the group about their trials. You are not alone in your journey.
First responders and family members have personal experiences and face PTSD, anxiety, and/or depression. Group therapy can offer support from others experiencing similar hardships. The power of healing with your peers and learning that you share similar thoughts and feelings is paramount. Each session includes a licensed professional who will guide the group and provide support every step of the way. First responder sessions are always in tandem with a retired or active first responder.

Let us head outside, get some fresh air, and talk about what you are going through! Walk talk therapy is what you think it is; we walk and talk about your trials. Being outside in a different setting has the ability to relax your thoughts and your mind. It’s mood boosting, stress reducing, and provides bilateral stimulation for your brain. When you walk, the rhythmic pattern that follows the right and left foot alternating movement creates bilateral stimulation that can help your brain process and integrate information in a unique and powerful manner. It can also jump start a healthy, active routine. When we move our bodies, we also move our minds!
Tiffany will walk with you through your hardship, and also take you through a beautiful walking trail at the barn. In the open space of her facility, you will experience fresh air, open fields, and beautiful scenery. Sometimes an inside setting does not allow someone to feel safe and open. The session can be a slow pace with calm energy, or can be fast paced to work through quick thoughts.
